  We had a 9a appointment to see a HR Block Rep. We were told on the phone it would be around $50. Rep was late by 5 or so minutes. We had uploaded our tax information to the my docs section of the HR Block web page. Rep hadn't printed them out in advance. We sat for literally :45 minutes while rep figured out how to print them out, eventually my wife had to walk the person through it. At about 9:55 we got started. The reps computer skills were lacking to say the least. At one point the rep just got lost, couldn't find the cursor (it was on the other split screen). Rep tried to tell us we should wait until 2017 tax season to claim things that happened in 2016. Truth be told, my wife was watching the person like a hawk and basically had to walk the rep through the whole process (she had done the taxes through HR Block Online in years past). At around 11:00, the rep pulled up the final page of the program, which showed we owed HRB around $280. We disputed this price, and they started to puff up about it, stating we owed the rep that for the person's "expertise". We told them we were done with the appointment and did not want to file through them, we left. I'm not even sure whether we filed or not, waiting on some kind of confirmation email to come through. All in all, it was humorous, and the silver lining: we learned that we know enough to do our own taxes. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but HR Block, Pisgah Forest to have your taxes done. Two hours of my life I'll never get back.
